Workforce Developement TIPS (Theory Into Practice Strategies)
The TIPS project involves the development a unique range of user-friendly and practical Workforce Development (WFD) tools and resources for the AOD workforce. The target audience is supervisors, managers, policy makers and other key individuals likely to engage in WFD activities and interventions. The aim of this project is to enhance both understanding of WFD and capacity to implement WFD interventions and programs.
The products developed as part of the project are designed to facilitate managers, supervisors & other key frontline workers in the AOD workforce to:
- effectively support frontline workers (eg, mentoring, stress management)
- ensure high levels of skill and knowledge (eg, professional development strategies, clinical supervision)
- facilitate positive organisational change (eg, change management tools and resources)
- design and support effective team work (eg, approaches to improve cohesion and communication)
- optimise staff motivation and satisfaction (eg, approaches to effectively supporting and rewarding staff, effective methods of providing feedback).
The project has four distinct but interrelated components:
- A WFD manual (overview of WFD in general; practical advice & guidance on key WFD challenges and tools)
- Resource package (case studies, WFD tools and information sheets).
- WFD website (to provide ongoing support and advice).
- Interactive dissemination strategy (workshops)
